Sour Cream Spice Cake
This cake is nice and spicy. The brown sugar gives it a wonderful flavor and a lovely dark color.
Sour Cream Spice Cake
Ingredients
- 1 yellow box cake mix
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup (16 oz.) sour cream
- ¾ tsp salt
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 ½ tsp. ginger
- 1 1/3 cup water
- 1/3 cup oil
- 3 tsp. real vanilla
- 4 eggs
Instructions
- Stir all dry ingredients together with a wire whisk. Add the remaining ingredients and beat on a low speed for 2 minutes. Bake at 325 for about 1 hour. Check after 50 minutes as ovens tend to be a little different.
- I also mixed about 2 tsp of cinnamon into my BCF. The effect was really pretty and the taste was great.
Made this last week for a friend's bday. We loved it. I am gonna try it sugar free.
