Fruit/Cream "mousse" filling

I use this all the time, and discovered it accidentally while fiddling around! It's a no-miss winner!

Ingredients

  • Prepared fuit filling - any flavor (you can even use chocolate, cream cheese, or bavarian) Prepared Pastry Pride or Frostin' Pride whipped non-dairy product

Any tips if using fresh fruit, like strawberries? Should they be sweetened a little? Sliced or diced?
Where do you get the whipped non-dairy product?
You can find Pastry Pride/Frostin' Pride in the frozen section of Smart N Final.
Sounds good however the recipe is kind of confushing. Prepared Pastry Pride or FrostinÂ’ Pride whipped non-dairy product is that a brand of non dairy product. Brands depends on what is available in your area. I live in Texas. Your brand may not be available here. Just want too make sure I get the right product.
So, since the frostin pride is non dairy, it can be unrefridgerated once put on the cake? I have to do a fondant covered cake and it will probably take me a couple of days to finish, so if I use this as a filling, it should be ok?
